About the event

In October 2008, indie photographer Wang Jiu-liang set off on a two-year journey to nearly 500 dumps around Beijing to answer one simple question: Where has all the waste generated every day by the population of over 20,000,000 gone? Director Wang Jiu-liang will attend this screening of his 2011 documentary work "Beijing Besieged by Waste" and the post-screening discussion moderated by Dr. Li Tiecheng (Cultural & Religious Studies, CUHK). Post-screening discussion to be conducted in Cantonese. No registration is required; all are welcome.
