The Artwork
The Ghost of Sister Ping (萍姐倩魂)
Artist: Katrien Jacobs

The Ghost of Sister Ping is an artwork and multi-media installation based on a reinterpretation of historical Chinese ghost fictions, filmed on location in Hong Kong’s northeastern New Territories. The artwork presents the frustrated romance of a young academic lecturer, Sister Ping, as a looping montage of her life accompanied by a soundtrack of her powerfully ethereal and sexy voice. Visitors are welcome to join the love journey of Sister Ping, feeling her love affair more closely by touching her clothes and peeping into the bedroom of her ex-lover, who deserted her for a male lover and homme fatale, Fritz.

Ghost Dog (狗鬼 )
Artist: Kacey Wong (黃國才)

According to ancient texts, the earliest documentation of ghosts in China were neither male nor female, but animal ghosts, while in the West the most common animal ghosts are dogs, cats and horses. Every time I read on the news about a dog suddenly running into the road causing traffic accidents, I would wonder if that dog is a ghost? Is it looking for revenge or searching for the owner who has abandoned it? There are a lot of traffic accidents in Hong Kong ‘caused’ by dogs; are they all caused by the same ghost dog? www.kaceywong.com/ghost-dog/
